Historical gymnastics apparatuses

Between 1896 and 1932, the Olympic gymnastics program included four apparatuses no longer contested today: rope climb, club swinging, side horse vault, and tumbling. Each was dropped before the modern apparatus set stabilized at the 1936 Berlin Games. The athletes who competed in them earned real Olympic medals, but their events have no direct successor in the current program.

This page lists what was contested, when, and the medalists of record. Where a competitor's profile exists on this site, their name links to it.
